Margaret H. Smith

April 15, 1914 ~ February 9, 2013

Margaret H. Smith was born on April 15, 1914 in Yakima, Washington. She passed away February 9, 2013 in Kirkland, Washington. Her husband of almost 62 years, Beverly C. Smith, predeceased her on November 4, 1999. She is survived by 40 family members, including six daughters, 10 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. Her family was very important to her and her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were a pivotal part of her life.

She graduated from the University of Washington with a BA in Library Studies in 1936, and worked in public and academic libraries for over 10 years. She was active in Girl Scouts for 50 years, as a troop leader and event coordinator. She also volunteered at the Inter-Faith Treasure house in Camas for many years and as a kindergarten aid in Belfair, WA while in her mid-80s. She enjoyed a wide variety of outdoor activities throughout her life, including fishing and camping. She was an avid vegetable and flower gardener, and belonged to multiple Bridge Clubs throughout the years. She also loved travel of any kind, both in the U.S. and abroad,

She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
