KENNETH WILLIAM PASQUINELLI
May 9, 1958 ~ March 31, 2018
Ken was an amazing outdoorsman and rock climber! He spent weekends at Beacon Rock, Index or Smith Rocks and, when possible, Yosemite big wall climbing! That is where he was in his element, happy and free! The family enjoyed camping trips in the backcountry with Ken bushwhacking and setting up camp! Wonderful memories!
Ken suffered from mental illness that led him down a path that tore he and his family apart. We remained in touch over the years and are saddened that this illness stole many of Ken's gifts from himself and his family.
Ken is survived by his former wife/friend, Gail; his children, Denise (Oliver), David (Tisha); grandchildren, Katherine and Elliot, sisters Denise(Craig), Gina; and brother, Alan.
Celebration of Ken's life will be at Beacon Rock Sunday May 6th 1:00 PM. Hoping the climbing community will come out and tell us some great stories of Ken!
Know you were loved, you mattered,
and will always be in our hearts.
Mental illness can happen to anyone. When you see a mentally ill/homeless person, please show them kindness and compassion. Contributions in Ken's honor to NAMI would be welcomed. A memorial page has been set up and you can find it online at bit.ly/nami_pasquinelli

I can hardly believe it has been a year since you left this earth. Time has helped me think about you more often with a smile rather than tears. The kids and I are going to hike Beacon Rock tomorrow in your honor...I am sure you will be right there with us! You are loved and missed every day!

Ken was a great friend, Climbing mentor and big brother to me. We shared many pitches and conversations. I loved watching Ken climb, he always told me to move like a cat when he was teaching me. Larry and I used to refer to Ken as the Fonz, because we thought he was so cool. I don't know if anybody has climbed Beacon Rock more than that guy. You have been missed for a long time now. Thanks for all the great experiences and mentoring. You were one of kind.
Peace,
Andrew

We rode out a spring snowstorm on Dolt Tower. Others evac'ed to The Nose, even perished behind the Texas Flake -

Ken was my older brother. We were close growing up, but we fell out of touch in later life. Rest in peace.

Oh, Ken, how I wish things could have been different! If only you could have believed that your family loved and missed you and would have given anything to have gotten another chance to see you again. There will always be a part of you here on earth in your beautiful children and grandchildren! You were an amazing man, bright, witty and rock/big wall climber extraordinaire! You were a joy to watch on the rock, truly like no other! I hope there are lots of big walls in heaven and you are flying high and having the time of your life! You remain in our hearts forever more! Until we meet again
