John R. "Jack" Little Sr.

JOHN "JACK " R. LITTLE, SR
January 15, 1930 ~ October 27, 2013

John Little went home to be with the Lord after a short illness.
He was born in Topeka, KS, one of 13 children. At age 17, he joined the Navy during the Korean Conflict. He served until 1951, when he met Lanita (Bunch). They married and moved to Vancouver, WA.
Lanita preceded him in death in 1983. They have eight children: Linda (Paul) Owens, John Jr. (Polly), Alan (Patty), Arthur (Joyce), Larry (Terri), Cheryl (Bill) Aiman, Lloyd (Sherry), and Tim (Cindy). He was blessed with 20 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
His working career included Alcoa in the Pot Rooms as a lead and Kaiser Aluminum ending as a Culvert Truck Driver. He was a gentleman farmer on the 5 acres. If it had legs he raised it. He spent most of his free time with horses. He belonged to the Rough Riders Saddle Club and then decided trail riding was for him and co-founded the Silver Spurs Trail Riding Club. He was able to ride some of the Crest Trail and spent many weekends with the family out with the horses.
He was very partial to his Grandchildren. He was a unique father, grandpa and friend. He will be greatly missed by all of us.
There will be a Service at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Saturday, November 2, 2013 at 12:30 p.m. Please bring a story, remembrance and a picture to share with friends. You may sign the guest book and tell us something only you know.
Please sign his guestbook at www.columbian.com/obits.
