James M. Wyzard Sr.

April 22, 1926 ~ December 7, 2013

James M. Wyzard, Sr., 87, of Vancouver, WA, passed away on Dec. 7, 2013. He was born in Tulsa, OK.
James was wounded in WWII in Okinawa, June 1945, and received the Purple Heart. After recovering at the Vancouver Barracks Hospital, he remained in Vancouver to raise his family.
He graduated from Clark College in 1953 and went to work for the Oregon Dept. of Transportation, retiring after 35 years, in 1983.
James was an avid fisherman and hunter. He loved his country and his Savior Jesus Christ.
James leaves behind his son, James M. Wyzard, Jr.; his daughter, Vickie Nelson (John); four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Alta N. Wyzard; and his grandson, James M. Wyzard III.
Viewing will be at Evergreen Memorial Gardens on Wed., Dec. 11, 2013 from Noon to 9:00 p.m., with a funeral service in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens Chapel on Thurs., Dec. 12, 2013 at 10:00 a.m.
