James K. "Jim" Gilman

July 22, 1934 ~ December 31, 2013

James "Jim" K. Gilman, age 79, died peacefully at home on Dec. 31, 2013, in Vancouver, WA. He was born in Chicago, IL on July 22, 1934, and spent most of his informative years in Arlington Heights, IL.
After serving in the Korean War, Jim worked for the American Can Company in different cities across the country before he settled in Vancouver in the early 1980's, working for Domino Amjet Ink until his retirement.
Jim was a member of the Eagles, Elks, Moose, American Legion, and Veterans of Foreign War organizations.
His love of classic cars also led him to membership in several classic car clubs in the area.
Surviving Jim are his daughters, Lori Manning and Cheryl Moore; son, Michael; former spouse, Kathy Bresnihan; twin sister, Judy Thatcher; his life partner of many years, Geane Olson; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding Jim in death was his son, David Wayne Gilman; parents, Hugh and Gennette Gilman; a sister, JoAnne Robinson; and a brother, Doug Gilman.
There will be a Celebration of Life and potluck on Jan. 15th, 2014 at the VFW #7824, 400 Andresen Road, Vancouver, WA, beginning at 12:00 noon.
