Betti Hoeppner

November 20, 1947 ~ November 26, 2017

Betti Hoeppner was born on Nov. 20, 1947 in Oakland, CA. She grew up in Texas and Fremont, CA with her parents and two brothers.
As an adult, Betti did some dairy farming in Tillamook and worked in Seaside, OR for a bit. She moved to the Portland/Vancouver area and was a successful hypnotherapist for 25 years until her retirement in 2014. She especially enjoyed doing this work with kids.
Betti met Jim Horne in 2008 and through him discovered her inner country girl. She joined Jim on his woodland property near Amboy, WA and helped manage his Safe Haven Tree Farm. She enjoyed gardening, planting trees, learning to use and maintain equipment, watching forest creatures, raising rainbow trout, spending time with friends and family, and creating a loving home with Jim.
Betti was diagnosed with cancer in 2016 and tried several types of treatment to return herself to the healthy, vibrant person she was. Eventually the cancer overtook her body and she passed away at home on Nov. 26, just days after her 70th birthday.
Betti is survived by her partner, Jim Horne; a brother, Larry Pollard; and a niece, Kimmie Daino.
