Bessie N. Tyrrell

June 15, 1925 ~ June 19, 2014

Bessie N. Tyrrell, 89, of Vancouver, WA, passed away in Vancouver on June 19, 2014. She was born June 15, 1925 in Norman, OK to Elijah and Mary Abee and moved to Vancouver in 1943, after graduating from high school.
Soon after, a co-worker, Nita Tyrrell, introduced Bessie to her brother, Clifford, and they were married Sept. 19, 1945.
Most of Bessie's jobs were as bookkeepers in medical offices, the last being Vancouver Orthopedics in 1973.
She has been a long time member of Trinity Baptist church, continuing her membership even though her health wouldn't allow her to attend any longer.
Bessie never knew a stranger and had a great sense
of humor. She would often have long conversations with people at the market and when asked later
who the person was, would respond that
she had never met them before.
Bessie is survived by her children: Dennis (Joanne) Tyrrell and Janice (Jerry) Desmet; grandchildren, Kristi (Jasen) Froeber, Cory (Desi) Ledgerwood, Galen (Segan Epton) Ledgerwood, Julie Tyrrell, Spencer Desmet, Andrew Desmet and Tyler Desmet; and great-grandchildren, Carissa, Mackenzie, Alyssa, Hailey, Brecken, Tristin, Talan, Ashton, Belle and Zander.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Clifford; sister, Florence; brother, Jim; and both parents.
A funeral service for Bessie will be held at 11:00 a.m., Sat., June 28th, 2014, at the Vancouver Funeral Chapel, 110 E. 12th St., Vancouver, WA 98660. Interment will take place privately at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
