Archie G. Dawson, 88, of Vancouver, WA, passed away peacefully July, 5, 2013.
Archie was born in Vancouver, B.C. to Edward and Bessie Dawson.
He retired from the Aerospace industry and Linnton Plywood.
Archie was a decorated Army veteran of WW II and was awarded four bronze stars and many other ribbons and medals. He saw battle across Europe including landing on the beach at Normandy on D-day.
Archie was devoted to God and a member of Vancouver First Church of God.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Imogene; sister, Glenola; and brothers, Dan and Delmar. Archie is survived by his wife of 18 years, Lauretta Dawson; daughter, Kim Sanders; sons, Greg (Pam) Dawson and Tim Dawson; sister, Audrey Alexander; and six grandchildren.
Funeral service will be Thursday, 12:30, July 11, 2013 at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, 1101 NE 112th Ave., Vancouver, WA 98684. Viewing Wednesday, 12:30 p.m.-9:00p.m.
