ALAN WAYNE BRAGG
February 13, 1959 ~ April 25, 2013
Alan Bragg was born in Roseville, California, on February 13, 1959. He grew up in Sacramento and moved to Vancouver, Washington, in the early 1990s, where he remained until his passing on April 25, 2013.
He is survived by his wife Marianne, and two sons, Joshua and David, all of Vancouver. He also leaves his parents, Reggie and Shirley Bragg of Sacramento, and two sisters, Deborah Harrison of Folsom, California, and Carrie Bragg of Sparks, Nevada.
Starting at an early age and throughout his life, Alan worked as an auto mechanic. He was a registered ASE Master Mechanic and spent the majority of his career working in dealerships. He became self employed in 2004. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, riding one of his Harley motorcycles, and spending time with family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions can be made to a favorite charity in Alan's memory. There will be a celebration of life for Alan at his home on Saturday, May 4, starting at 1 p.m.
Alan will always be remembered as a loving son, brother, father, uncle, husband and friend.

I know you are not alone since you left us. By now your dad Reggie and your sister Deborah have joined you. I hope that you and your dad have gone fishing together like you always enjoyed. We have an addition to our family. Douglas, my great grandson, is 3 years old and he will be joined by a new brother in June. I miss you all so much. Carrie, Christie and Shaun are a great comfort to me. I may join you all in the near future. I will be 83 this November. I am grateful for my wonderful family. Your Mom Shirley Bragg

Alan, i never met you, but somehow, i ended up with your FXR. Wish you were here to tell me all the work you put into it but the care and attention to detail is obvious. You must have been a helluva mechanic. I'm going to fix your photo to the underside of the seat so your spirit can still ride the beast. Rest in peace.

Marianne and family, I'm sorry to read this news. I called his cell number today. How many times in the last year I meant to call, but never did. I know the struggles he went through since we last worked together. That photo at his work bench is how I will always remember him.

You left us way too soon my little brother. You have always had a special place in my heart and will forever. Someday over the rainbow we shall drive fast like maniacs again together! We know that you are no longer in pain and for that we are truly thankful. You know what you always said "S___ happens" and sometimes it happens way way too soon.
We love you.

My husband and I bowled with Alan; he also did mechanic work on our cars. I remember Al as talented, friendly and funny. MaryAnne, I'm very sorry for your loss. And I can relate to what you are going through - I lost my John on April 7th. I wish the Docs in the world could figure out how to kick cancers butt. Take care.

Alan was the best friend a car-girl could have. He was always ready to talk to me re my car troubles. Whether it was a classic or a daily driver, he would set a time as soon as he possibly could to work on my cars. If I wanted to stick around while he worked to ask a million questions, he never minded. He would always catch me up on his parents and family and, of course, his cars and motorcycles. He was the best!

Our hearts go out to all of Alan's family. We will always remember the first time we met Alan when he and Marianne rode up to my mother's 90th birthday celebration on their Harley. She got such a kick out of that. He was so kind and considerate that day and every time we've seen him since. We'll miss him at Sly family gatherings.

Thoughts and prayers to all of you. As you all know Alan was a remarkable man who helped make my son the man he is now by taking the time to be the dad he didn't have. I will be forever grateful.
