We are so sad that we were not able to meet Mary Kay in person, but were happy to have spoken with her on the phone on several occasions. She spoke with such joy as she looked forward to Kaylin and TJ's upcoming wedding. We were so happy that she was able to be part of their special engagement event in October. We are blessed to have Kaylin as our future daughter-in-love, but know that no one can ever replace her special mom. Our hearts are hurting with this loss, but know Mary Kay is living pain-free in peace with her heavenly Father.

Mary Kay was a very inspirational lady. I had her son, Bob, in my class at Salmon Creek Elementary. Mary Kay helped in my classroom. She did anything she wanted to and never let her illness get in the way.
Sincere Sympathy to the Family.
Love and Prayers,

When Mary Kay worked at a daycare, the children were supposed to call her "Miss Mary Kay." She was so beautiful and sweet, the kids thought they were being cared for by "Miss America."
Mary Kay was lots of fun and a good friend, loyal and kind.
I will never forget "Flying Blue" (the secret is ours, and I'll never tell) and I can hear May Kay laugh as I type this.

Mary Kay was my honorary "kid sister," and after growing up as next-door neighbors, I'm so glad we stayed friends all these years. She wowed people with her beauty, zest for life, optimism, kindness, and loyalty--and kept us entertained with her keen observations and hilarious zingers. She was truly one of a kind, and I will always miss her. Jay and I, and our sons, extend our sincerest condolences to Bob, Kaylin, and the entire family.

Kaylin and Bob,
Your mom was such a special lady. You two were the lights of her life. She was one of the most positive, upbeat people I have ever met. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. My deepest condolence to the family.

I am so sorry for the loss of Mary Kay. As a teenager growing up in Tacoma during the early 70's I was lucky to have the Stevens family as next door neighbors. I met Mary Kay through her older brother Jeff who was my friend and fellow basketball player. Mary Kay was a great girl with a bright future. I still remember it was a sad day when they moved back to Vancouver. Great childhood memories for sure. Mary Kay you are missed but not forgotten.
