Vera Helstrom, 82, of Vancouver, WA, died at home with her eight children attending. She was born Nov. 11, 1931 in Christmas, AZ.
Vera was retired from the Barnes VA Hospital and a longtime member of the Vancouver Moose and Elks lodges.
Vera is survived by her three sons and five daughters, who will miss her grace, love, and humor.
A memorial service will be held Mon., Feb. 24, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Joseph Church, 400 S. Andresen Road, Vancouver, WA 98661. Gathering after service will be held at El Presidente, 312 E. Evergreen Blvd., Vancouver.

You will always have a place in my heart,You were the greatest grandma to my children and I am sorry I can not be there,but I am in ways that count,a part of you will live on in my children and they will never forget you,I loved you dearly,now you and my mom can finally have that chat,,see you on the other side,enjoy it with God all all that has gone on before you,and may you find that peace in Heaven with our wonderful GOD.
