ANNIE HAGERTY
1965 ~ 2013
"Annie is and always will be terribly missed
by all her family and infinite friends."
Annie Hagerty, of Ridgefield, WA, passed on Sat., June 8th at 48 years young, with her husband, Matt, and family by her side. She was born in Rockford, IL where her zest for life started as a cheerleader in high school.
She then graduated from University of Illinois with a degree in Nutrition and was a proud sister of the Gamma Phi Beta sorority.
Annie's career as a dietician began in Boston, then Southern California where she met her husband, and finally in Washington State where she was the Bariatric Surgery Program Coordinator at Peace Health Southwest Medical Center.
Her interests included gardening, volunteering her time, painting in her studio, book club, singing in the car, dancing, activities with her sorority alumni, and playing with her dogs. Annie was most passionate about the outdoors. After years of hiking activities, she climbed Mt. St. Helens in 2009, and since then trained and succeeded in finishing 17 half marathons. This was even more remarkable given the fact that she was a double lung transplant recipient in December of 2002.
Annie truly believed in living each day to its fullest, and was evident in all the lives she touched,
how she inspired so many, and how she thrived
for 10 and a half years post transplant.
Annie is survived by her mother, three brothers and their families, husband, mothers-in-law, and her two beloved four-legged children.
A "Celebration of Life" Memorial will be held Fri., June 21st at: Bethany Vineyard and Winery, 4115 NE 259th St., Ridgefield, WA 98642 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in her name to the foundation that Annie passionately supported: Donate Life Northwest (www.donatelifenw.org).

Although I didn't know her, her story in the paper inspired me. I will embrace life with more tenacity then before I learned of Annie Hagerty.

My heart goes out to Annie's husband, family, and friends at this time of sorrow. I knew Annie in college, we were in the same sorority, and I will never forget her constant smile as she would light up the room when she walked in. She was an amazing person.

Saddened to hear of Annie's passing. She was a great educator to those of us that had or were ready to have bariatric surgery.

So sorry to learn of Annie's passing. We first met her at the Weight Loss Clinic. She was in the process of moving into their home in Ridgefield. She was a delight and full of life. Had a fantastic way of getting the info the class needed to them. My sympathies to the whole family.
