HARMON JOHN HOORN
May 13, 1922 ~ October 16, 2013
Harmon John Hoorn passed peacefully into eternity October 16, 2013 with family at his side.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gayla Rich Hoorn; and infant daughter, Susan Gale Hoorn; and his sister, Zoe Lambert.
He is survived by his sons, Michael Steven Hoorn and Scott John Hoorn; daughter, Pamela Jean Cruise; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Dad was very proud of his Navy service in WWII. He served as a corpsman in the Pacific Theater, where he participated in the Guadalcanal and Okinawa campaigns. He was also a devoted member of the LDS church, and had many close friends in the Grass Valley ward. His faith and love for his ward family were of great comfort to him.
~He will be remembered as a loving husband and father,
and for his amazing sense of humor.
He was truly loved and will be greatly missed.
We love you, Pop. ~
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, October 23 at 12:30 p.m. at Willamette National Cemetery.

I love this photo of him.He looks just like I would have pictured him. I didn't know him personally, but he gifted me, a lonely Widow, with a" BEST FRIEND! Who is ztill the only Friend who laughs with ne cries with me and is in contact with me regularly. Pamela Cruise, and her personality and even her face looks like she inherited his BEST genes.Tbank you Harmon, for leaving Pamela as a remembrance of your amazing life.
