ROBERT W. "SILVER" FERRETTI
December 17, 1926 ~ November 20, 2013
Robert W. "Silver" Ferretti, 86, of Vancouver, WA, passed away on Nov. 20, 2013. He was born in Portland, OR, started grade school in Fairview OR, and then his family moved to the Ridgefield, WA area where he graduated from Ridgefield High School.
Robert went into the 20th Air Force on Guam after high school graduation. He was the first enlisted man to receive the accommodation medal presented to him by Major General Parker, commander of the 20th Air Force in early 1946. He received an Honorable Discharge.
He was a supervisor at ALCOA wire and cable for 33 years and retired January 1, 1986.
Robert was a member of the Steel Workers Union; Pipe Fitters Union, Furniture Makers Union, and the Culinary Union. He held a Washington Licenses for Real Estate and Insurance. He was a charter member of the Hazel Dell Lions Club; the Toastmasters club; a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars; a 65-year member of the American Legion; and a lifetime member of American Society for Metals.
Robert was an excellent gardener and enjoyed playing pool and traveling.
He is survived by his wife, Janice; son, Robert L. Ferretti; daughters, Rena Ferretti, Rita Nelson and Cheri Poff; step- son, Jack Perseghetti; step-daughter, Jodi Browning; sister, Marjorie Hebert, who is 100 years old; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, who he dearly loved.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Annible and Anna (Arata) Ferretti; sisters, Silvia Jacalone, Helen Nizich, Dorothy Nasset; and brother, Dr. Donald Foster.
Evergreen Memorial Gardens Funeral Home will host the visitation Mon., Nov. 25, 5-9 p.m.. and the funeral service Tues., Nov. 26, at 12:30 p.m., with the interment and military honors. A gathering for family and friends will take place in the Hospitality Room following interment.

We are so sorry for the loss of Bob. He was a wonderful man with a gentle soul. We will forever be amazed at his gardening abilities and have no doubt that he will be planting and growing wonderful things in Heaven.
