CURTIS EARL HUGHEY
March 29, 1929 ~ November 19, 2017
Curtis passed away Sunday, Nov. 19th, and joins Beverley in the arms of our Lord. "Curt" has two kids, Mark and Carolyn, five grandkids (Ivan, Russell, Tracy, Amanda, and William, eight great-grandkids, and one great-great-grandchild. His brother Roland lives in North Carolina.
Born in Brooklyn, Curt came out to Camas in approximately 1945 to live with Grandma Asher and graduate from Camas High School. Continuing to Clark College, he found Beverley and got married. He loved to hunt and fish. He was a Boy Scout leader young in life and later became a Little League and Babe Ruth coach. He was proud to have helped establish the Fern Prairie Fire Department and served 30 years as its secretary.
Upon completing a career as a millwright at the Camas paper mill, he became involved with the Camas-Washougal Historical Society, serving 16 years as its president. Curt and Bev were selected as Mr. and Mrs. Camas for Camas Days in 2003.
Friends are invited to attend Curt's service at Brown's Funeral Home on Monday, Nov. 27, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the C-W Historical Society.
Brown's Funeral Home & Cremation Services have been entrusted to the arrangements.

I am sad to hear of your Dad's passing. My heart goes out to you all. Curt & Beverly were very good friends with my Grandpa & Grandma Messick. We had many good times with your family. Curt will be remembered and missed by many. Your families are in my thoughts and prayers.
