Roger Seekins Obituary

ROGER GLEN SEEKINS
"GRANDPA ROOSTER"
February 7, 1947 ~ March 1, 2017

Roger, 70, went to heaven March 1, 2017, with his family by his side at his home in Proebstel, Washington. He was born February 7, 1947 in Portland, Oregon, the third born son of Claire and Reha Parthene Seekins. Roger was a graduate of Evergreen High School class of 1965. This is where he played football, did wrestling and track, and where his love for sports grew strong.
He attended Grays Harbor Junior College where he played football and earned a degree in Agriculture.
After college, he joined the Army Reserves.
In 1968, Roger married his high school sweet heart, "Pamela Anderson". They were blessed with 48 1/2 years of marriage.
Roger began his employment path at a young age, building fences and other odd jobs for Ron Andersen. Over the years, Roger had many farm and home related jobs. To mention a few, Western Farmers Co-op, "Seekins" family dairy, and "Seekins Livestock Hauling". Remarkably, the longest and final employment was working with Ron Andersen as his farm manager for 25+ years. Together they planned and built Andersen Dairy to what it is today.
Roger and Pam began their family in 1969 with the birth of their son Corey, son Ryan followed in 1971 and daughter Sundee in 1974. He was a devoted husband, dad, uncle, and grandpa. Grandpa Rooster left behind a legacy in his 9 favorite grandchildren. He took pride in attending his own kids, grandkids, family and friends sporting/other events. It would be impossible to count the hours of cheering and support he put in over the years. Each and every one of the kids knew he was their "Biggest Fan".
Grandpa Rooster had a way of making everyone feel welcome and feel like a part of the family. His generosity, hospitality, caring, funny, jokester, loving, stories and encouraging words have touched us all in one way or another. May you share those same gifts with others and have your memories and stories of Roger last forever. God Bless!
Roger is survived by his wife, Pam; children, Corey (Kamie), Ryan (Michelle), Sundee (Josh) Racanelli; 9 grandchildren, Louden, Gage, Rylee, Canon, Emily, Corra, Sawyer, Ellie, and Celia;. his mother, Reha Parthene; his siblings, Jim (Judie), Jerilue (Mike); and nieces and nephews and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Claire (2005); and brothers, Garylee (1959) and Harold (2015).
A celebration of his life will be held the first weekend in June for family and friends. Time to be announced.

I'm so sorry to hear that Roger has passed away. Even though I didn't know him well, I know he was so loved by his family and a friend to so many. Please accept my thoughts of sympathy. Praying for you, Pam, and for the family. Blessings, Von (Carol's sister)

Roger was my dad's cousin. Though they lived nearly 2,000 miles apart, there was a bond. But that wouldn't surprise anyone who knows the Seekins Family. While I'm so sad for Roger's passing, I'm also envious of the Seekins Family Reunion taking place in Heaven right now.

Roger was such a supportive Father to his children and a good husband to Pam. He was so proud of each of his nine grandchildren and supported them in everything they were interested in. He was also the best brother in law a
girl could have. I will miss talking sports with him during each season throughout the year. We all have our own special memories of Roger and one thing is for sure he touched a lot of lives and won't be forgotten.
