Joanie was a dear friend of mine. We met at Kaiser Dental...I was her hygienist for too many years to remember! She had a great smile, infectious laugh and love of life. Joanie was a doll. Lunches, cards and phone calls were also part of our friendship! This is such a shock. I know she is in heaven spreading her love and happiness all around! Miss her terribly. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family.

My mom and I were friends of Joan at Bally's pool. She and I would meet for coffee. I wish we would have tried harder these last couple months to get together. She was such a sweet lady. Joan remembered us with cards for birthdays, Christmas and when my mom died. Joan will be missed!

My friendship with Joan began many years ago at the pool. She was a sweet and dear friend and will be sorely missed. May her gentle and kind spirit rest in peace. The world was a better place for her having been in it. My deepest condolences to her family.

Joan was my water Yoda. During my two pregnancies, every week day we would meet at the Bally's swimming pool in Vancouver. Joan's heart was buoyed me and others in that water, and I truly cherished the support, conversation and humor she shared. Though my babies are now in school, Joan's outreach didn't stop. Her smile is one that remains clear in my memory. Oh, yes, she was fabulous with the birthday and Christmas cards. I just received one at the end of may.
Peace be with Joan's family. She was proud of her family, a great support to many, and a fabulous role model of what it means to live each day.

Joan was a wonderful and caring mother to her amazing children. I worked with Joan when her daughter was in my class and she would help and support us any way she could. We became good friends and she invited me numerous times to her home where we chatted for hours. She will be missed by many. Prayers and blessings to the family.

I am so sorry for the rest of the family, I got to know Joan way back in the day that my Son Eric went to school at PSO, she and I worked together many of a time. She will be missed by the former teachers and passed and present staff assistants, and of course all of the students that knew her back in the 90's. May her soul rest in peace.
