JARED BROWN Obituary

JARED ALAN EDWARD BROWN
April 4, 1994 ~ March 4, 2013
"He touched the lives of all he met."

Jared Alan Edward Brown, 18, of Surprise, AZ, came home from school on Monday, March 4th excited about everything. He was making plans for his date that night with his girlfriend, Amanda, and decided to take a nap. Sadly, Jared wasn't able to keep that date as he tragically, suddenly, and unexplainably passed away in his sleep. Jared was born in Beaverton, OR to Alan Edward and Yvonne Michelle "Shelly" Brown. He was a senior who was due to graduate in May 2013 and had planned on a career in law enforcement. He enjoyed paint ball, knives and cars.
Jared was very active in church, (Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints) and was looking forward to serving a church mission when he graduated from high school. He was in leadership positions at church and Boy Scouts.
Jared was funny, zany, always smiling and
always able to bring a smile to your face.
His laugh and wit and jokes would crack you up.
He is sadly missed by his big brother, Stephen, who reveled in letting Jared know that even though Jared was taller, he was still the "big brother". These two boys shared their lives as though they were twins doing everything together as best friends should. Their passion was wrestling and Kung Fu!
Jared was much loved by his dad, Alan; grandma and grandpa Tom; many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his beloved mom, Shelly. They shared many talents and interests and will be reunited as they share a gospel mission in heaven.
Public viewing will be held Wed., March 13, from 12 noon to 4:00 p.m. at Northwood Park Funeral Chapel with the funeral service Thurs., March 14, 2013, 11:00 a.m. at LDS Church, St. John's Road and 50th Ave., Vancouver, WA. Further viewing will be held two hours prior to the funeral.
Special thanks our to friends, family, church and school friends.

Brown Family,

I am greatly saddened to hear of Jared's passing. I regret only meeting him, and the rest of your family, once, in Connecticut so many years ago.

Even in that short amount of time, Jared made me laugh and smile immensely. I remember going to the Chinese restaurant downtown; when the waitress asked him his age, he misheard her and replied, "Root beer." We all had a great laugh about that.

My family and I miss you terribly, and we are so sorry for your loss. Please keep in touch.

I just remember the Browns from when I was a kid. Even though Jared and Stephen were just in primary with me, I still always considered them my friends when I saw them. I saw the influence Jared had on his friends, and I could tell he was truly loved by all he knew.

So many memories from our time as neighbors, the boys were like brothers to my girls. I recall remarking to friends how inspired I was by your joyful, loving approach to each day in spite of the many trials you knowingly bore. You all truly lived life to its fullest each day, so wile Jared's life here was briefer than most, it was also full to the brim! He shared that daily with those around him, and leaves a space in all of our hearts, but a loving legacy as well. Sending all of our love to the entire Brown Family - Jennifer, Kelsy & Arin

I didn't know Jared well, but he was just in 6th or 7th grade when I graduated from VSAA. I remember him as being a sweet, brave & strong kid, as he was dealing with the loss of his mother at that time. I was so amazed at how Jared and Stephen coped with such a devastating loss at such young ages, it has stuck with me all this time. I am so deeply sorry and words simply can't suffice. My prayers and love go out to Jared's family and friends.

I knew Jared for most of my school career, from Preschool all the way to junior year of high school. It was tough to see him leave Vancouver, but not as tough as it is to see him leave this world. I wish him and his family all the best.

Dear Alan and Stephen,
When I think of the Brown family, the word "Love" immediately comes to mind. Jared was blessed to have devoted parents and a very cool big brother who always included and looked out for him. I remember Jared's beautiful smile, polite manners, sensivity and compassion for others and his wonderful sense of humor. I had so much fun with him when he was in my classes and he never failed to say a kind word and a cheery hello to me every single time I saw him over many years at VSAA. I remember how often Stephen would stop in to check on his little brother and make sure that he was doing alright during their challenging times.
You two have been through a lot together, and your faith, courage, love and support for each other will see you through yet another extremely difficult time. My thoughts, prayers and love are with you now and always.
Respectfully,
Adele (Ms. White)

A very bright, energetic light known as Jared has been taken from the Earth, but we know his light burns on, hidden from our mortal view. Think of all who have known and loved him, now think of the happiest of reunions when each of us sees him again, laughing, happy, and full of the light of Christ. You will be sorely missed, sweet Jared.
