"Warren was a calm and gentle man loved by all
he met. He will be dearly missed by all."

Warren R. Fields, age 93, logged his last take off to join his beloved Rosemary on July 31st. He was born in Mankato, MN to Russell and Pearl Fields and grew up there. In 1937, Warren became the youngest licensed pilot in Minnesota at age 17. While still in high school, he met and married Rosemary Vander Pas and spent 72 wonderful years together until she passed in 2010.
At the onset of WWII, Warren entered the Navy and served as a Naval aviator until the end of the war in 1945. He survived two plane crashes during his 50-year aviation career, one during WWII and a subsequent accident as an airline pilot in 1957. In 1960, after recovering from his injuries, Warren regained his flight status and entered the Federal Aviation Agency as an examiner and accident investigator. He retired in 1984 and resided in Reno, NV until moving to Vancouver, WA with his son's family in 2009.
Warren is survived by his three children: sons, Russell Fields (Jodee) of Colorado, Colonel Rick Fields (Marty) of Vancouver, WA and daughter, Diane Luthi of Sparks, NV; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
