Rodney Dollar Sr. passed away suddenly on July 31, 2014 in Corvallis, Oregon. Rodney graduated from Battle Ground High School in 1967. He served in the U.S Army during the Vietnam War in Korea.
He was an avid rock and gem collector and a master craftsman, creating thousands of pieces of jewelry. He enjoyed to travel to Arizona to rock and gem shows and travel the U.S mining for precious stones.
His friends and family and friends remember him as a cheerful soul, with a kind heart. Rodney was a friend to many, he loved to socialize with his friends and family, shooting pool and throwing darts.
Rodney worked at Alcoa in the early 70s in the pot room.
Rodney has lived in Battle Ground, Tri-cities, Arlington, and his remaining years were spent caring for his Mother, Lorain Dollar in Lincoln City, Oregon.
He is survived by two sons, Rodney JR. (Heather) Dollar and Jonathan (Christa) Dollar; five grandchildren; brother, Richard (Connie) Dollar; sister, Jo Ann (Dave) Dollar-May; six nieces and nephews; and ten great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother Ronald L. Dollar and parents Ronald and Lorain M. Dollar.
Rodney will be laid to rest at Willamette Cemetery in Portland, Oregon. There will be a "Celebration of Life" on August 10, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. for family and friends. For more information RSVP Connie Dollar at 541-991-1277.
