ROBERT "BOB" CHARLES VOLLMER
June 20, 1933 ~ November 25, 2013
Robert Charles Vollmer of Redmond, OR, died November 25, 2013 at the age of 80 years. Bob was born June 20, 1933 in Sacramento, CA.
Bob was very active in the Marine Corps League, Devil Dogs, VMF 311, and the Korean War Veterans. He enjoyed all the time spent with his fellow Marines. Semper Fi.
Bob was an avid stamp and coin collector. Bob was a Veteran of the Korean War and worked for the Sonoma County Sheriff's Department for 26 years as an ID Tech.
He is survived by Linda Vollmer his wife of Redmond OR; Dr. Denise Land his daughter; Bob Land son in-law of Redmond OR; Mark Vollmer his son; daughter-in-law Judy Vollmer of Sacramento; Lisa Whitworth his daughter of Sacramento; Brady Fitch his stepson of Redmond OR; Kristen Fitch his step daughter of Wilsonville OR; Nancy Cortapassi his sister of Elk Grove CA; Jeff and Susan Freed, Sue Gillette, our very dear friends in Santa Rosa CA.
Bob was proud of all his grandchildren Katie and husband Daniel Gunn, Nicolas Cardona, Shelby and Megan Vollmer, Alan Fitch, and Matthias and Kenny Roberts. He is survived by many nieces and nephews.
Bob's service will be held at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland OR on January 31, 2014 at 1:30 p.m., and reception at the Elks Lodge in Vancouver, WA at 3:00 p.m.

So sorry about Bob's passing. He was always so nice and pleasant and willing to share his stories. We enjoyed having him in our extended family. RIP Bob. Peace to you Linda and your family.

I am saddened to hear of "Vollmer's" passing; I had the pleasure of getting to know him through my position in the General Services Dept of Sonoma County. He had a great sense of humor & warm personality.
