"He had a great sense of humor
and will truly be missed by all."

During World War II, Woody tried to join the Navy, but due to his color blindness, they would not accept him. He pursued his desire to serve his country and was able to join the Merchant Marines going to the European and Pacific theaters. He served as a fireman on the ships.
After the war, he moved to San Francisco, CA and became a meat handler for some major supermarket chains.

He had a few jobs before settling in with the Prune Administrative Committee/California Prune Board as a Controller. He later became the Executive Director. During his time with the Prune Board, he had the opportunity to do a lot of world traveling with his wife, Quannah Davis. He remained with the Prune Board until his retirement in 1989.
Woody and Quannah decided to retire to Albuquerque, NM where they became very active in the First United Methodist Church and traveled extensively with their new church friends. After about 5 years, they moved to Vancouver, WA for 5 years and then decided to go back to his wife's home in Ardmore, OK. Again they became active participants in the First United Methodist Church where Woody served as President of the Chester Dennis Sunday School Class.
In 2012, Woody and Quannah moved back to Vancouver, WA and moved into Independent/Assisted Living at Merrill Gardens. Alzheimer's was advancing with Woody and there was family to help them in the Vancouver area.
