I also worked for many, many years at Central Research in Camas with Ed.He was truly a gentle soul and a great guy with a sly sense of humor. He never spoke of his military service or his humble bravery. He was a good friend.

My daughter, Barbara Welch Turner, and I enjoyed Ed and Alvina's hospitality when we visited them. Ed took us to the end of the Lewis and Clark Trail. My mother, Odelia Mick, cousin to Alvina, and my family enjoyed a visit with Ed and Alvina at Jean Schumacher's 90th birthday party in Lawrence, KS. Ed will be missed by all. Marylee Welch Hamilton
